Chatham Chamber New President & CEO

Pittsboro, NC — The Chatham Chamber is pleased to announce that Tyler G. Bryant has been selected as the Chamber’s new President & CEO.  Bryant, an experienced community leader hailing from Georgia’s fastest-growing region, currently holds the position of President & CEO at the Hawkinsville-Pulaski Chamber of Commerce.

Bryant has a solid track record of revenue generation, membership growth, member retention and brand management across his 14 years in non-profit and association management.

On March 21, the Chamber’s Board of Directors voted unanimously to approve Bryant for the position after a sub-committee made up of members of the chamber’s board conducted an extensive nationwide search.  Jason Hoyle, with Hunt Forest Resources and Kindled Provisions, served as the chair of the search committee. The chamber retained Anissa Starnes, IOM with YGM, LLC, who specializes in chamber executive searches to provide oversight for the national search. Bryant will begin work officially on May 1, 2024.

Bryant, while serving the Hawkinsville-Pulaski Chamber as President & CEO has excelled in cultivating positive relationships through strategic communication, while also orchestrating impactful events that significantly contributed to the growth and vibrancy of their chamber. Within one-year the membership was doubled under his leadership. The organization achieved a 15% increase in total annual revenue, a successful transition to a tiered dues model, and experienced a complete marketing & branding transformation, including the chamber’s web presence, social media, during his tenure as President & CEO, all something he hopes to replicate while leading the Chatham Chamber.

Earlier in his career, Bryant served as the Development Specialist for the Central Georgia Technical College, where he created and executed events and fundraising efforts growing their internal fund campaign participation from 64% to 100%. He also previously served as Artistic Director for The Muse Theatre, in Perry, GA. He has also held multiple positions in community relations, communications, public relations, and business development.

Chair of the search committee, Jason Hoyle, said, "We received a large number of qualified candidates from across the country. Tyler Bryant was the ideal choice. He brings diverse experience including leading another chamber and working with multiple other non-profit organizations. With his exceptional background and experience, he is uniquely positioned to represent every business in Chatham County.”

Chris Elkins, Chair of the Board of Directors stated, “We are pleased to welcome Tyler and his wife Shannon to Chatham County. We believe that his leadership, experience, and high-energy will complement the chamber and lead us into the future. As those of us in Chatham County know, it is an exciting time to live and work in our county, and our chamber is on track to match that growth and success.”

As the chamber’s President & CEO, Bryant will oversee the staff and will report to the Chair of the Executive Committee of the Chamber’s Board of Directors. The President & CEO is responsible for providing overall leadership and management to the membership, Board, staff, and volunteers in executing the respective missions of the Chamber organizations, along with financial management, marketing, membership development and revenue-generation, and overall office operations. The President & CEO implements the annual business plan to meet the objectives of the approved Strategic Plan.

“I am deeply honored to assume the role of President & CEO of the Chatham Chamber. This presents a compelling challenge, and I am enthusiastic about leveraging my skills and expertise to make meaningful contributions to our team, members, and the broader community. I aspire to advance the prosperity of Chatham County, collaborating closely with entrepreneurs and local businesses of all sizes. Chatham County boasts a dynamic business community, and I am committed to nurturing its growth and success by supporting all businesses, fostering job creation, and cultivating a robust economy and quality of life,” said Bryant. “My wife, Shannon, and I, could not be happier to be relocating to North Carolina. It is a critical time right now for businesses in Chatham County, and the chamber should be the resource for all of them, and I look forward to getting to work.”

Bryant is a graduate of Georgia College & State University, in Milledgeville, GA with a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication (Public Relations & Broadcast Media), and he also holds an Associate of Science in General Studies from the Georgia Military College. He is currently enrolled in the U.S. Chamber’s Institute for Organization Management at the University of Georgia, where he expects to graduate in 2026.

Bryant will succeed Cindy Poindexter.
